Well, I've just done my singing exam. It went pretty well, as far as I can tell - not stymied by any of the aural tests, and I sang the songs okay, bit breathy maybe but that's nerves for you. It was a nice place to sing, too. I like singing when I get the sound of my voice coming back and it sounds good.

'Nina' by Pergolesi (attrib) in Italian, 'Die Prinzessin' - Grieg, in German - in fact, I think you checked the translation for me at Camp! And 'My Ship' by Weill/Gershwin. My folk song (unaccompanied) was 'Sweet Polly Oliver'.

It's a completely unnecessary thing, at my time of life, but my singing teacher suggested it as something to aim for, and I thought, might as well. He's very keen for me to do Grade VIII next year (this one was Grade V) but that involves me doing the Grade V Music Theory exam as well, sigh.

I hope my results will vindicate my optimism!
