Apparently I write like James Joyce (The White Room), Jonathan Swift (The Chronicles: When Someone Needs You), Rudyard Kipling (The Tale of the Wealthy Young Man and the Slave Who Gained his Freedom), Cory Doctorow (A Night at the Palace), and Stephen King (Free Range, Cake, and, bizarrely, The Song of Chris Kirkpatrick).

Very manly, I'm sure.

Oh, wait. Anne Rice for Fairy Tale. And - ahahahaha - for Can't see the wood for the 42Ds, Margaret Atwood.

I quite approve of the Stephen King ones - I haven't read his books other than "On Writing", but he seems to write without literary affectation. Never heard of Chuck Palahniuk, though!
