I knitted myself a scarf last night—only took half an hour–and wore it to knitting group this morning, where everyone was quite interested. Any guesses?

Have been purchasing large quantities of chocolate as I offered to run a chocolate tasting at Redemption (con, this weekend). It is very hard, having so much chocolate in the house that I cannot eat! But the lady in Hotel Chocolat took pity on my and gave me a supermilk raspberry egg, which I must say was jolly good.

A chocolate tasting sounds like a marvellous idea. Yum.

It is red/orange/pink/purple, and has *giant* stitches (seven in a row) because I made it using my arms as knitting needles. Which is why it only took half an hour. I used about eight strands of regular yarns in combination. It is extremely cheerful! And very snug when wound about my neck.

Sadly I could not have afforded a truly spectacular taste sensation, so it's going to be fun rather than entirely serious. But there'll be some good stuff in there. Hope there will be some left for me!

Ahhh arm-knitting. Sounds like so much fun! Did you teach yourself or get it off a tutorial?

YouTube! It's my go-to for knitting advice, when I don't want to wait until Wednesday morning. Although I had seen a friend doing arm-knitting a few months back.

She didn't teach me to arm-knit, but she made me aware that it was a Thing that people do.

The video I watched is here, and is very clear. If you fancy creating yourself a scarf, it's useful to have a sizeable stash so that you can combine a bunch of yarns rather than buying something just for the purpose.

I found it handy to put my yarns into a washing basket and thread each one through a separate hole so that they didn't become hopelessly tangled as I went along.
