I cannot say that I approve of the new trend among journalists to use the term 'fan fiction' as a synonym for 'bad writing'.

Case in point: Chris Pratt reading dinosaur erotica*, which is a thing that doesn't quite interest me enough to actually click on the video, but sounds mildly entertaining nonetheless. What I cannot perceive, though, is how the tale (In the Velociraptor's Nest) is fanfic. It isn't, unless we assume it's RPF about a real dinosaur and a real bikini-wearing cavewoman who mysteriously managed to be contemporaries. Fantasy, yes. Almost certainly bad, yes**. Fan fiction? No.



* I can feel only Great Woe that the dinosaur erotica chosen was not A Billionaire Dinosaur Forced Me Gay***, but such is life.

** Not My Kink, so no, I haven't read it. But I will bet cash...

I'm afraid the best bit was the comment to the SBTB review, suggesting that fifteen pages wasn't really a novel. Which made me cry laughing.

I'm sure I remember someone commenting that there was a bit in the book about being held down by the dinosaur's mighty forearms, and they thought... wait. How would it reach?
