There is nothing quite like an event to demonstrate the deficiencies of one's wardrobe. I've just spent half an hour trying on different combinations of clothing to figure out what to wear to a funeral on Wednesday, after the black wool dress I had intended to use proved to have been eaten by moths. It's easy enough for Beast, he just un-retires a suit from his work days. I live in jeans and sloppy tops, and have no suits from work days. I have a few summery dresses, but none of them right for an occasion in January. Figuring out the right combination of subfusc, warmth and formality is very hard! The eventual outfit includes the blouse from my choir's daytime uniform.

Sigh.

And I'd better tidy my nails, too.

Ugh, formal winter events are the worst! I have enough dresses to cover most evens from spring to autumn, but next to nothing for winter. I also get cold really easily, so winter dresses aren't really my thing.

And a winter dress that'd keep me warm in a chilly church would almost certainly be too hot for the wake afterwards. If I had such a dress, anyway. Gah!

Ugh. I had a "cocktail" type event to go to this weekend, but I used the excuse of being sick to get out of it. Made it easier on my brain than deciding what to wear!
