I went in to London for Friday night to meet my bff from school. We had a lovely natter at the hotel, then on to the Chocolate Factory for a very fine dinner (and more wine than either of us is accustomed to, these days) and then a fabulous production of Into The Woods (I think the company was Fiasco Theatre). I had been speculating on the portrayal of The Cow: my intro to this show was its Broadway debut—on television, alas—with its plastic, handled model, and I've seen a couple of productions with a pantomime-style cow, but the film's actual cow is... it's just a cow. And I was delighted to find that this cow was one of the actors, wearing a cow bell. It was very wittily done, with much doubling by the actors, who occasionally played instruments to augment the single piano. Brought out things I hadn't noticed before, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
On Saturday we had brunch in South Ken and went to the V&A. I've tended to be vaguely disappointed by the special exhibitions (though at least this time I didn't need to pay to get in, as Liz is a patron), and the Underwear one was no exception. Perhaps I'm not a sufficiently adept museum-goer: I wanted more lines drawn for me between the substructure and the clothes and the morals. It felt as though there wasn't enough there there. Still, the place is amazing and filled with wonderfulness. We looked at the Glass, and after Liz went to catch her train I went up to Ceramics before retreating to Victoria Coach Station.

Sunday morning we viewed two more houses, and FIL has made an offer, which has been accepted. We await further news. Fingers crossed!
