So far, we have had:

- roast turkey with roast potatoes and parsnips, spring cabbage and gravy (for three)
- turkey and mushrooms in creamy sauce with mixed grains and chickpeas (pretty good)
- re-heated roast turkey with cabbage and gravy (really awesome gravy)
- turkey doners: thinly sliced and microwaved turkey, shredded red cabbage, onion, lettuce, chopped tomato, and a slightly hot sauce made with mayo, mango chutney, tomato ketchup and hot sauce, stuffed into pita bread (very successful!)
- turkey curry (not my best curry, but no doubt I'll do this again)

And the cats get a spoonful of the chopped meat with their midday snacks, and possibly also with their supper.

We have so far used rather less than half of it.

I spent part of this morning updating my "what to do when I die" file. It was, surprisingly, quite fun. Not that I plan on dying yetawhile, and I feel fine, but the file needs to exist and needs to be up to date.

So, how are you?

Stay strong! stay the course! (Do you do cranberry sauce? I love turkey with cranberry sauce.)

And good for you for getting that info laid out. I have a will and a healthcare directive, but I don't actually have full instructions listed out. hmm.

I can't believe you've already had five meals and you're not even half done with the turkey!

The Joy of Cooking suggests "Leftover Turkey Soup," which is basically chicken soup in a bigger pot, and assumes you're working with a turkey carcass. The New York Times Cookbook suggests "Turkey Hash." Dear food gurus, I am not impressed.

Something involving a grill? Skewers of turkey and pepper and courgette, and maybe a sturdy sort of fruit (my tastebuds are saying pineapple, but they're pretty alcoholic right now, don't trust them) could be tasty with a soy-ginger marinade.

The internet confirms that turkey chili shakshuka is a thing. . . is it too spring-y for turkey pot pie? That has the problem of landing you with leftover pot pie.

. . . The vegetarian will stop having ideas now. :D
