I got to sing with Actual People yesterday morning! Three of us (there should have been four but wires were crossed and timing misunderstood) stood in the front garden with fence to the south of us, garage to the west, and house to the east and half of the north, and since it was a nice (though chilly) day and we got good sound in this situation, we did well. The missing member of our foursome had taught the chorus a lovely little three-part song which, apparently, the children in (I think) Zimbabwe would sing as they lined up to come in to school. Which I think sounds wonderful! So we sang it, and marched round our triangle of chairs, and swapped from part to part. Good stuff.

The mixed chorus met by Zoom in the evening, so I was in the kitchen singing with my Beast. Unfortunately this isn't so good for me: I tend to drown out the backing track so he couldn't deal, and I had to sing really quietly. Also I was cooking the week's sourdough bread offerings, and forgot to put some water in the oven to steam, so we have Serious Crustage on the bread. Never mind.

Today, we have been to the coast and back. Partly to give FIL a change of scene, but mostly to try charging up the starter battery. To Beast's annoyance, it doesn't seem to have worked. To mine, it took a lot longer to get there along wigglier roads than I had altogether bargained for. We started off in bright sunshine, but by the time we got to the National Trust marsh... thingy, the clouds were thick and the wind sharp. FIL can't walk far anyway, so we went to the loo and came home again. Eh. I did spot that there is a Maze and Gardens, a collection of military Stuff, and something else reasonably appealing, all along that route, so maybe we shall return in the spring.
