pensnestHad a nice walk this morning, as it was sunny, to the northern side of the city to deliver some Stuff to a friend who is working on renovating a small house. There's a very pretty park, Waterloo Park, which we detoured to visit briefly (and it had open loos, \o/).

When we came home, there was a little gift bag on the doorstep. It turned out to be from my chorus committee and to contain a mince pie, a small bottle of white wine, a party hat, a party popper, a nightlight, a packet of peanuts, and a coaster with a music design (Für Elise)(apparently this is For Baritones Only)(we are Elisen). We have our Christmas party tonight.

I have also received a small, intriguing parcel fromephemera, and a box of Christmas chocolates (Hotel Chocolat, natch) from nopseud. And a very glittery card from nopseud, too.

My FIL got a text yesterday inviting him to call to arrange a COVID vaccine. Unfortunately he did not see the text until rather late in the day and it seemed too late to call. Beast investigated this morning, only to learn that the surgery's supply of vaccines has been delayed by a week, alas. Still, there is action. (For the alphabet's sake, why is my spellcheck underlining 'week'? Grrrrrar.)

Now, is it petty to dedicate an entire year of your life to completely overengineering a box just to shoot a little glitter at someone? …..Yes.
