My FIL apparently had an addiction to buying inkjet printers. Two, bought in Australia—at least five years ago—were still in their original, sealed packaging. Another, while unwrapped, had not been used, and we found the box for it easily enough. There are two more printers in his study, one of which was used (by me), and I'm sure there is at least one more in the garage stash.

So today, I Freecycled three pristine inkjet printers. Every person collected when they said they would, and every one said thank you!

Also sorted out more of the Stuff from the kitchen. I would like to start moving my craft Stuff in there, not least so that we can have a tidy and civilized space for our memorial for FIL. We discovered a rather interesting tablecloth in red and white with a kind of lace design, and the monogram of Beast's grandmother, so we'll definitely keep that.

I do empathize with your sorting and donating. When my father died (15 years ago), I came upon a pornagraphic watch! May you be spared that! Har, har!

Maybe he was afraid of them dying on him when he needed them, that seemed to be the case with all the inkjet printers I ever had (I got feed up with them, and and have now switched to laserjet). Plus, there was a time when you could buy inkjet printers really cheap, usually around the back to school sales or boxing day sales (here in Canada).

That's impressive that they all turned up on time and were polite. Sadly it's often not the case.

Four inkjet printers - the mind boggles!! I'm glad you managed to find new homes for the ones you didn't need.
