make me feel there are songs to be sung
Jun. 13th, 2021 09:44 pmWell, phew! It occurred to me that I had rather foolishly signed up for a challenge of some kind and ought to be doing some writing, but I had forgotten the name of the challenge. But I have found it!

It's time to discover whether I am still a writer, or not.

I am, at any rate, still a singer. My chorus couldn't muster a reasonable stack this weekend, possibly all the Leads have gone on holiday, so we had a section rehearsal under the apple trees in our Bari leader's gorgeous garden. As we sang River of Dreams quite a lot of times I was feeling the strain, as I sing Tenor 2 on that arrangement. It ain't high, but barbershop-singing women get to have a much lower range than normal choirs. At least I was audible! But it was cool singing with Baris1 and 2, and at the end of the session, with the basses, who wandered in from next-door! It is a pain and a half doing a home COVID test before going off to sing, and an extra pain that the entire south-eastern quarter of Norwich is CLOSED, there being roadworks on the bypass *and* the road that links us to the city centre. Timing, amazing timing, from the council(s) there. I remembered this as I backed out of the garage, and had to go round to the north and loop back, and was not at all convinced I had gone the right way, but in fact I had, and was a whole minute early.

Just call me the courgette killer. I cannot keep a courgette plant alive this year! WTF?
