It appears I maligned NTL, as service has been restored - phew. Our local paper contained the strong suggestion that the reason why *everybody's* tv service hereabouts was being disrupted, was that the place was awash with newshounds and their, um, thingummies, were interfering.

Pictures of the industrial estate are horrifying. If the accident had to happen at all, I'd say six o'clock on a Sunday morning was about the optimum time - nobody in the offices, people tucked up in bed and to some extent protected from flying glass by curtains and duvets, and little traffic about.

However, enough of that. We've been down to Devon to see my sister and her family. Nephew (aged 7) was extremely enthusiastic about the arrival of Boy, who was lured out of sight to play Playstation games; Niece (3) was similarly possessive of Bun (whom we collected from Bristol on the way). It's so pretty down there! (If anyone wants a friendly B&B to stay in next year, I can give you details.) Pleasant in this weather, as not icy, which since they live on a steepish hill is just as well. The house is in fine fettle now, very comfortable, with cast iron stoves in the mighty fireplaces everywhere. Toasty! And the small persons were in their Church nativity playlet in this morning's Advent service, excessive cuteness, plus sound effects for doors opening, and a most amusing 'birth', during which 'Mary' looked worriedly about for her baby, discovered it, and hurled it with great efficiency into the manger. Heh. Also, I like singing carols, even though the piping treble which emerged was not my usual voice.

Next, irrelevantly, more icon gloating. Am wondering if anyone on flist would like an icon or two for Christmas.

That "Fa-a-abulous!" icon is pretty fabulous indeed.

If you're feeling inspired, I'd love a JC icon that I could use when he does something dorky. Which is pretty often, as you know. It could say Oh, JC. or something.

Awww, that's cute. But I'm not sure if it's exactly what I'm actually looking for, though - it's not dorky enough, you know?
