Oh JC. Yes. I could wish the 'sleeve notes' had a bit about the concept and story, but I'm glad this thing exists. And delighted to find that JC enjoys musical theatre, which is something I had not previously noticed.

I walked to the shops at the top of the street this morning with my Beast. It's usually a 7-minute walk, but with my current short steps it took a bit longer. We stopped at the café and had a pot of tea and a brownie, and a conversation with a very cute two and a half year old blond lad who seemed keen to chat though not very well practiced. Realised rather too late that we should have walked up there to have a magnificent breakfast, but maybe another time.

Beast then went off with his chorus for much of the rest of the day... I made some Christmas gift tags, searched out JC's new project for a bit, watched a bit of tv. Watched Beast's progress back from Gorleston and had the chilli timed just right for when he got home in his concert finery.

All of which has been quite hard work, so it's bedtime.

This is true. I've noticed my resting heart rate is higher than usual at present, I'm sure much is happening In There. A decent amount of proper sleep *really* helps.

It is really interesting! Not at all what I would have - oh, let's not pretend I would have *predicted* what JC might do next. But I'm delighted he is interested in making a musical, and the Frankenstein story does seem in retrospect to be a very good fit. Sadly, if it gets onto a stage in the USA during the next four years I won't be able to see it.

My Beast is taking good care of me - but he has so many chorus commitments over the next couple of weeks, I don't think we'll be able to go out for breakfast. *woe*

I have the JC album but I haven't listened to it yet. I will definitely get on to that soon.

I was imagining reading a fic in which JC finally emerges from his musical cave clutching a horny Frankenstein musical theatre concept album, and I decided that I would think it was a brilliant and hilarious idea, but also I wouldn't really believe it. Like, it's a very fanon-feeling bit of popslash-JC characterisation. So. JC Chasez, less plausible than fanfic.

Popslash has always had the Best Canon. I mean, I hadn't *predicted* that JC would want to write a musical, but, well. Here we are. It's already beginning to seem sorta inevitable!

I wonder if it will become something that is staged. I hope so, but it takes a lot of time for something to become a musical. I've already resolved that I won't be going to the US while Trump is president, so I may never see this thing—unless it catches on like wildfire and comes to the West End!

I think most of the remaining discomfort is from my (presumably) magnificent wound, under its dressing. My hip and leg are about three sizes up from normal, not unexpected but a little weird. But the dressing will be removed on Thursday and I shall have a chance to see what is under there, enfin. How exciting is my life, right?

It's been fun seeing JC so calm and happy in interviews about the project, too. Really, I'm delighted - this fits my interests so nicely!

I also did not know about JC's enthusiasm for musical theatre and am delighted but not that surprised. I've had it in the car, and it really sticks with me, I found. I also found I'm imagining staging and direction in my head listening to it, and the in-betweens. I found somewhere ... the Playing With Fire website, I think ... that had a timeline laying out the songs, like, this is Elizabeth visiting Victor at University, this is what's going on here, this is back to the original framing time (Death of the Brides and Don't Go being right next to each other, I was a little confused).

In short, I'm very happy JC is doing things he enjoys.

Also very happy that your hip is healing! I hope it continues smoothly, and yes, it's hard work!

I still find it rather difficult to imagine the stageing and to figure out what is going on emotionally with the characters - each song works, but I've not worked out the whole yet. It probably doesn't help that if I have ever read Frankenstein it was a very long time ago. I did see the National Theatre production during lockdown, with Johnny Lee Miller as The Creature and Benedict Cumberbatch as Frankenstein, so my sympathies are naturally with The Creature. But this is different. The PWF website does indeed have a clearer timeline, but it's not settled into my mind!

I really like Father. And You Used To Touch Me fills me with delight.

It also occurs to me that men in Shelley's era really did have power over life and death, as in Broken. And also the ability to ignore their own children...

I caught JC on a local talk show last week and I almost fell out of my chair when he brought this up! He should not be allowed to just surprise me out of the blue like this! My little heart can't take it!
