pensnest: Me in blue light (Bella)

Weariness... We had yesterday off, sort of, as our director didn't need us there for the first tech. However, the Playhouse had to be turned into a theatre, so a bunch of us (including my Beast, who is noble and good) were there in the morning, setting up the tiered seating, putting chairs out, attaching arms to chairs etc. A reasonable turnout of people, in fact, and we were basically done by eleven, which meant I had no guilt at all about leaving then to get showered and ready for a neighbour's party. She was having an all-day Open House, and I'd told her we would show up at lunchtime because I'd have an afternoon rehearsal. So we went, had nice chats and sparkly wine and good food, and may even have persuaded a few of her cultured guests to come and see Orpheus in the Underworld. Good work.

Came home, worked on the programme for Orpheus and filled in some of my glass painting commission. And loafed a bit, which was nice. Rehearsals every night until Friday this week, opening night Friday, two shows on Saturday, then leisure until the following Thursday, when we perform again. And, O rapture, the Beast is heading into London every day this week, from tomorrow, so I shall have to stumble out of bed and drive him to the station. As I usually can't get to sleep after rehearsals/shows without a couple of hours of winding down, I'm going to be knackered by Saturday.

Oh well.

The Timberlake photos in [livejournal.com profile] _nsyncchallenge were rather fun this week, being golf-themed. I was actually rather proud of this one:

because the light texture and the flying grass all came out of the same pic as the Justin image. I thought it was quite nifty.

Ah well. Got a programme to finish. Also, should dress, as plumbers may arrive.

Orpheus in the Underworld

Is this the Offenbach operetta? That one is so much fun I've always thought.

I love the Drew icon and both the Justin icons, especially the second one. It's so cool that you took all the "effects" from the same picture!

It sure sounds like you have a really busy week ahead of you. Don't overtax yourself and remeber to have fun!

The Justin icon is impressive; using other portions of the image to create the icon effects should classify as its own challenge, really.

And I don't think it's too golf-centric; after all, he could be looking at anything. Okay, it's a slightly odd looking-downward pose, but it only screams golf to us because we KNOW that's what it's from. As an image in and of itself, it stands alone just fine. (I suppose the flying grass suggests golf too, but again, only if you already knew what you were looking at, lol.)

Unfortunately diary says 'no. no way. nope.' [in a very eddie izzard like fashion] as I am Very Booked over the coming fortnight. Sorry! I will, however, pass the word along to a couple of potential audience members. Tickets from the theatre, I assume?
