And now for something *completely* different...

I've been playing with some gorgeous brushes which came with my Photoshop Creative magazine a month or two back, experimenting with gradients and colours and blending. Fun! If you happen to fancy a bit of Art Nouveau in your LJ, please help yourself to an icon or two. Or more. Whatever. Do let me know what you've picked.

The brushes are from http://brushes.500ml.org, and are beautiful. No credits beyond the brushes themselves, as everything I did with them was on Photoshop already, but a *big* thank you to [livejournal.com profile] 77words for the icon table generator!

Wow! These are absolutely stunning! I just can't decide between # 6 and 11 so I have to take both I'm afraid :-) Will of course credit when I use them.

PS I don't think I've ever seen either of these two before, do you know who the artist is?

very cool indeed. I especially love 12, but it's hopelessly innacurate for me, so I'm not taking ;)

The rest are almost certainly Mucha, but I don't think those two are, their lines and colouring are just not "him" somehow. Unfortunately there were no more information to be had at the brush site so I'll have to hunt further afield if I want to know.

No, I didn't realise it was the same at all, and it is a Mucha, which clearly shows when you see the whole thing and also isn't distracted by the distinctly un-Mucha like colours! And I'm supposed to be an art historian - okey it's 25 years ago and I've never practiced what I was taught, but still! I ought to be properly ashamed of myself, but strangely enough I'm not. Just slightly sheepish :-)

These are beautiful. I love the simplicity and muted colours of #5.

#1 has a faintly Indian feel to me...I think it's the rich and bold choice of colours coupled with the circular pattern (which reminds me of gold embroidery along the edge of a saree).
