pensnest: bright-eyed baby me (Florilegium Camerarius)

There seems to be a rule that when we (ie, sparklyfolk) visit [livejournal.com profile] nopseud, bedtime is 5am. We (that's [livejournal.com profile] interlock and me, and of course some sane people too) had a delightful time celebrating her birthday with curry, and then watched the Cartercest movie "Harry and Max", which is... which... words fail me. It is the cinematic equivalent of the lava lamp story, in that it is (a) dire, and (b) perfect for those late nights in the company of fellow sparkly fans. We must show it at Camp Sparkly*, with a scheduled recovery period afterwards. We must debate the foreskin question: did Nick Harry lose his foreskin in a tragic skateboarding accident? (And - how??? But he'd give a million fucking dollars to have it back, so something must have happened to it!)

Anyway. I spent much of Sunday in the car, as when I got home, Bun was there, having been to a WoW guild meeting in London and come home for the night. So we watched the Christmas episode of "Dr Who" and I drove her back to Bristol.

Had to deal with the Minutes Of Doom yesterday, 14 sides of A4 which I painstakingly noted down at a recent EGM. Then a management meeting in the evening at which the rest of the committee received the minutes with cries of admiration, and neatly delegated the task of discussing same to me and two others (one of whom was absent, obviously a Bad Move on her part). Sigh.

As I sat, in civilised fashion, at the dining room table for my solitary breakfast, I observed that my cat was lurking on the patio, on the house side of the several large pots. While, on the garden side, was my neighbour's cat. They spied each other simultaneously, and froze. Stone cats. Then, with infinitesimal adjustments, began to creep slowly into defensive positions. Neighbourcat paced in perfect slow motion towards the pots, en route to fence through which to escape. Mycat peered in slow motion round the biggest pot, then slithered round and looked through gap between other pots, only to encounter the guilty face of Neighbourcat peeking back. Then, still in slow motion, the cats went in opposite directions... They are both complete wimps.

And today... hmm. I think I made a To Do list. Wonder where it is.

*No, we haven't forgotten the idea of a Europopslashfannish get-together, and are *hoping* very much to book a venue soon. If you are, or might be, interested, do join [livejournal.com profile] sparklyukfans, which isn't restricted to those in this country at all. I have a growing list of 'things to put on the programme', once we have date and venue fixed.
