Today's entry: Star Trek, including your favourite episode if you have one. From [personal profile] turps.

Star Trek. Ah, yes. My gateway drug, back in the early 1990s.

I was aware of the original series, of course. I expect I must have watched some episodes, though I was probably a bit young when they first came out. But it was Star Trek: The Next Generation that captured my heart. Yes, I watched most of Deep Space Nine (except the last couple of seasons, probably, as I have no memory of them) and enough of Voyager to know that I didn't like it, but ST:TNG, that was *my* Trek.

That 'My First Fanfic' meme... okay, why not.

Back in about 1994, I was a Dataphile. )
Ah, well, at least my Mary Sue didn't have violet eyes.

We discovered last night that Unspeakable Mould has taken hold of our living room carpet. Ick. Beast and I were trying to spread out a mattress-sized plastic bag on the floor (never mind why, it's dull) and moved aside the stack of cardboard boxes containing the Chinese dinner service my dad gave us several, cough, months ago. Whether 'twas the bottom box that had mould, or there was some vileness in the carpet, or maybe the cat peed in there (I think, I hope, we would have noticed that), we cannot tell. But, badness.

However, that's not really why I'm posting. The thing is, as we were hastily removing possibly vulnerable/useful stuff from the vicinity of the Great Mouldy Waste, my Beast handed me an attaché case that turned out to contain (a) several pretty cards etc I had obviously saved for years, and which may, when I can be bothered to get the scanner going, be turned into icons one day; and (b) the copious notes I made several years ago for my ST:TNG Magnum Opus. Which never got written, but when would have needed an extremely dedicated beta been a fabulous story. Trust me!

Shame it never got written, really.

As there is probably one person on my flist who might be interested, I'm putting this under the cut. Most of you can move right along now. )
