Nov. 19th, 2006 11:15 amI've just been for a strot with my Beast. We're trying to make a habit of going for a daily walk, if we can, particularly since he's working from home four days a week and doesn't, therefore, get his exercise going to work/the station as he used to. It was a strot because I won't walk fast enough for his natural high-speed trot, but it was a little too vigorous to be a stroll.
I do love autumn, on a bright blue-skyed day with the sun low in the sky. The trees are suddenly gorgeous - it seems like only last weekend that I was bemoaning the way the trees are still green, but now, there are autumn colours. I took my camera with me on yesterday's walk. Lovely stuff. There's an expanse of field not far from our house, apparently managed for people to walk on, as there are mown paths winding between long grass and wired-off areas of saplings. Muddy, but that's what wellies are for. Many happy dogs hurtling about.
In other news, I see there are nine of us already signed up for Camp Sparkle. Yay!
And now, I shall have to make an attempt at my DWNOGA story. OMG. At least, I have an idea, now I gotta write the bugger.
Gibbering abounds.

Date: 2006-11-19 01:49 pm (UTC)Autumn is a great time of year. Over here most of the leaves have fallen and sadly almost all of that wonderful snow we got a few weeks ago has melted so it's mostly grey and wet. Bleh, say I. I wish it'd get colder and we'd get more snow. I've sort of adjusted into thinking it's winter already so when I look outside and it clearly isn't a little depressing. But your field sounds lovely!
Yay for Camp Sparkle! Once I sort out the payment my registration will be coming in as well.
Good luck on the story.

Date: 2006-11-19 03:08 pm (UTC)I'm determined not to whine, so this'll be the last time I say it: I want to go to Camp Sparkle!!
I have too many SeSa ideas-well, they're more thought than ideas, and my goal today is to sit down and sort them out an pick something to focus on. I suppose it there was one or two really fabulous ideas, I wouldm't be having this problem.

Date: 2006-11-19 03:58 pm (UTC)Ah, Camp Sparkle. Yay! Hmm. It's a long way to come for a weekend, but we need the
token USAian to read the badfic in an authentic accentdiversity. Should you feel the urge to visit the UK for longer, you'd be very welcome to spend a few days chez Pen. Bun being out of the house, there is actually a spare room. If the weather is nice, we could go to Cambridge, and punt.no subject

Date: 2006-11-20 07:27 am (UTC)AND, not only can I provide appropriate accents (plural! I can do Southern, too!), I'm also male, for an added bit of vocal authenticity most fans can't match. ;)
The only thing that was holding me back was air fare, but my credit card is expiring at the end of the year, so I was getting a new one anyway... ..which was approved with well over $1000 more than my current one has. So, I just need to work out details, like how long I'm visiting, so I can work out flight times... ..Advice?
(And I'll be making a post about this in a few hours, once I'm caught up on my flist.)

Date: 2006-11-19 09:04 pm (UTC)We had sun today too but there are no leaves left on the trees here at all now, but as long as the sun shines I'm not complaining.
I got my sparkly mug yesterday!!! (Or rather Friday but I was too busy to get it at the post office - it was to big for the small opening of my letterbox. Sadly enough it had had an accident though and was broken *sniffle* Three big pieces, some smaller pieces and sadly one these was just about smashed into dust. They really must have stomped on it or something!! I'm going to try and reconstruct it so that I can at least put it on the swag shelf even if I can't use it. I just have to buy some superglue 'cause I can't uncork the small tube I've got at home - I think it was too long since I used it last.

Date: 2006-11-20 12:40 pm (UTC)PS Lancecat really liked the shreds, I had to forcibly remove him from the kitchen counter two times when I was opening the box. I did give him a small amount to play with though. He spread it all over the kitchen floor :-)
