Bun and I spent three hours in an episode of a recent science fiction* show the limbo between junctions 12 and 13 of the M1 this morning. We were going to visit my dad, and had not realised that three lorries and an oil tanker had had an altercation between junctions 13 and 14 in the wee small hours, nor that in consequence the motorway was *closed*.

Sigh.

Happily, Pa seems to be making progress. He took a step a couple of weeks ago. He is improving at standing up. He is to be supplied with a nifty turntable device which should make it possible for him to get out of bed and into a chair without the indignity and anxiety of being subjected to a hoist. This is good stuff.

Yes indeed. The consultant at the hospital didn't expect this to happen, but his physiotherapist knew better. It's a great relief that he is still making some progress.

It is! He can also lift his left foot, just a little bit - but that's a little bit more than he could do a month ago.

umh, it sucks when something goes wrong with the freaking car :P yes it does.
But on the other hand glad to know your dad is feeling better (assuming he is your dad *raises eye brow*)

It was very tiresome being stuck on the motorway for three hours, but I suppose it could have been worse. The sun was shining, and the banks either side of the motorway were green and pretty and had shrubs and flowers.

Yes, it's my dad - he had a massive stroke, in November, so any small moves he can make are very heartening.

I love this icon too! My cat actually sits on my hand when she wants my attention, but the principle is the same. The cat looks just like my cat, except for having perkier ears. It was from a set made by omgangiepants.
