Celebrated my only free evening last night by enjoying the increasing pain in my throat and ears. Today, nasal passages are also blocked. Joy.

Rehearsals tonight and tomorrow. Will have to keep well clear of cast. Performances Friday and Saturday, and Sunday afternoon. Would be nice if some non-participating members of our society decide to support it.

Had something to say... oh yes. Can someone remind me, if I start a community with a Basic account, that's ad-free, yes? Down-side?

Also, found this as I wandered about LJ, too congested to summon up the energy to do anything useful: This woman is supposed to disgust you. Hah.

*mopes pathetically*

I think it's a safe bet the advert campaign was led by men. And while the tag-line is 100% true, it's possibly the stupidest way to market to women ever. Yes, we want men. No, we don't like having out intelligence insulted. Morons. I would have laid money down that was actually Sharon Stone in that last picture, or at the very least her face copy/pasted onto the body. lol

yuck - what horrid timing!

(and afaik, basic = no ads, but slower load times, and more likely to go down if there's a lot of traffic. Not major negatives, esp for a community.)

Those ads trouble me slighty, but for different reasons. Ms Rosepetals, who is the one who seems most likely to get a 'phwor' reaction is *so* photo shopped.

Ack! What an abominal time to get a cold!!! I hope it won't last and that you'll feel better soon!! *sends lots and lots of virtual hugs and healing thoughts*

Basic accounts are ad-free, yes, and while I know that paid accounts are supposed to get preferential treatment on the servers in practice I've never noticed that [livejournal.com profile] kevin_daily loads any slower than for example [livejournal.com profile] sparklyglee.

BTW is one allowed to wish you good luck and a successful premiere on Friday, or is that considered Bad Luck? My knowledge of theater culture is sadly lacking I'm afraid :-)

The Express Lane preferential access for paid accounts is only for what you're logged in as, not what you're reading. I.e. it doesn't really affect communities.

The biggest difference that would affect a community would be the restricted styles that are available.

Also, you have to have a paid account yourself if you want to post a poll to a basic community, whereas if you have a basic account but maintain a paid community, you can post a poll to the community. But that doesn't affect you unless you're planning on reverting to basic yourself :)

I can't see any downsides with basic community accounts. Personal journals are different of course.

Wow, those are some gorgeous women.
