Feb. 12th, 2014 01:44 pmWhile I have no dispute with Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection, there are times when it seems rather less plausible than the notion that there is something up there with a truly macabre sense of humour that's coming up with this stuff.

I had a most unusual experience today - I went into a shoe shop and tried on several pairs of shoes which were *really* *comfortable*. That never happens! I had been meaning to get some colourful plimsolls, but these are almost certainly going to be more comfortable to wear.
There are Men in the house today, replacing several windows and putting the conservatory to rights (we spent much of yesterday afternoon emptying the conservatory, koff) so there are Large Holes in the walls at intervals and the house is exceptionally frigid. It is of course raining. However, they've done two windows this morning and are progressing at impressive speed. Socks Does Not Approve, vocally.
