When I went up to bed last night, my Beast announced that the cat had peed in the bidet.

On the whole, I'm inclined to think that if Sable wishes to urinate somewhere in our bedroom suite, the bidet is about the best bet. The shower would also do, but then she'd get her feet wet and leave unwelcome little footprints everywhere.

On the other hand—why? Sable, why? You have a litter tray and an entire garden, which have between them sufficed for several years.

Sigh. Cat urine is very pungent, and the anti-urine spray is not much less unpleasant.

Still. I woke up with a horrendous cold this morning so I'm probably not getting the full, er, impact of the smell.

As places to go in the bathroom, that probably is the best. I hope she hasn't got a UTI, peeing where he shouldn't is what started Murphy's issues.

I wonder about that, and also whether it is intended as some kind of vengeance (presumably for a lesser offence than whatever caused her to pee on our clothes!). I'll keep an eye on her.

I do feel a bit more human today—the Olbas-oil-on-a-tissue trick really helped last night, and I had reasonable sleep.

That is, indeed, the question. They are perfectly and splendidly selfish, and do things on their own terms.

Hydrogen peroxide is good for getting rid of the smell. It reacts with the urine to pull out sulfur (so it smells like sulfur for a little while) and neutralizes the rest. We have used it successfully on the good rug.

We have some spray stuff that does a good job of getting rid of the smell, I suspect it does contain hydrogen peroxide. Things have improved muchly!

Mercifully the smell has now dissipated. Not that I can really tell, with one solid nostril...

I do in fact feel a bit better today, probably because I unexpectedly got a decent night's sleep. :-) I want to be able to go to chorus tomorrow even if I sit isolated with a mask on, because we have an acappella specialist from America coming to coach us next week, so I'll want to be certain I'm getting my part right.

Cats gotta cat. But yeah, why? Why after all these years?

The good thing about one cat is, you know with cat it is. I'm having a second poop-outside-the-box issue, and while I suspect Ozzie, I have no proof. I've been thinking about setting up one of the kitty cams down there because whoever cat is pooping in the same outside-the-box place each time. And the last time it happened, it was a health issue. I wish I had the kitty cams back then because I took the wrong cat to the vet, and she checked out fine.
