(no subject)

We have been clearing out the loft, a mammoth task due to Beast's careful habit of saving every cardboard box that enters the house (except the ones from Amazon, which, er, I tend to save). Most of the stuff has been ferried to the dump (I will soon be on first name terms with the cheerful woman who works there). We have become adept at flattening cardboard, and at car tetris. We were *brilliant* at nesting boxes inside boxes inside boxes back when we moved here twenty-five years ago…. It's mostly empty now, and we have discovered very little that's of any use, and quite a lot of ancient computer bits.

I've also managed to freecycle the Encyclopaedia Britannica that we bought back in 1985 (when I was first pregnant) and which we last opened, probably, oh, three years ago? I kinda hoped it would go to someone who wants to use it for some kind of art project, but unexpectedly it went to someone who actually wants an encyclopaedia.
