pensnest: little cartoon dragon coughing up a flame (Dragon li'l flame)
Snowflake Challenge - some catching up!

Day 4

Comment to someone you haven't ever interacted with before or introduce yourself to someone you've interacted with and friend/follow them. Afterwards, leave a comment in this post with the equivalent of "I did it!"

I've certainly done this, checking through people's self-recs. A tick for me.

Day 5

In your own space, post recs for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I'm going with brand-new stories this year, because the Make The Yuletide Gay authors have just been revealed, and there were lots of stories in the latest collection that I really enjoyed reading.

Of all the ways it's possible to decorate with hooves, this is… certainly one of them. let nothing you dismay by Brandywine, is a completely adorable Christmas romp in New York, a popslash RL college AU which is packed with atmosphere, and laughs, and feels.

A different kind of AU here in a story by ocelot summer, There's Some Holiday Spirits (In Your Coffee). A grown-up romance, in which the guys all know one another and the main pairing and their relationship are beautifully characterised. Even if you don't know who these people are, you'll get them, in this story.

A Fairy Tale of Two Cities has magical beings—I hesitate to say 'elves', because that's usually a bad sign. The Fae are elegantly conceived and there is an interesting variation on the nature(s) of the magical beings which I don't think I've met before. There's a lovely contrast between the 'high' faerie tale language and the everyday story itself, and, inevitably with NoPseud's writing, lots of opportunities to giggle along the way as well.

Day 6

In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your wish-list if you feel comfortable doing so. Maybe someone will grant a wish. Check out other people's posts. Maybe you will grant a wish. If any wishes are granted, we'd love it if you link them to this post.

I think the only thing I really crave is feedback, and I really can never get too much of this, even though it feels cringeworthily embarrassing to ask for it.

Still, *girds loins*, I would be charmed to receive feedback on any of my fic or podfic, most of which is available at AO3, where I am pensnest, or slightly more fabulously on my website. My main fandoms are popslash, Adam Lambert and Star Trek: TNG, though there are a very few stories from elsewhere (and one original).

However, there are quite a lot of stories, so if anyone's feeling inclined to fulfil my Snowflake wish and doesn't know any of my fandoms, Thriller (on AO3) and Dragon Country (on AO3) are both AUs which don't require any knowledge of canon. And I'm quite proud of both, so I don't think it would be a complete waste of time to read them!

Day 7

Yet to come, if I can.
