We had a major trip to the dump today, with two large boxes full of 'electrical waste' plus some extra (two small vacuum cleaners, both with poor suction, which made the trip home from Australia and possibly the trip out from Bexhill too). And a bit of other stuff, mostly metal bits and bobs. Sadly, the dump would not take the pile of ugly bedlinens and curtains except as landfill, and that feels wrong. Surely it must be possible to recycle/reuse sheets, pillowcases, and deeply hideous curtains?

We watched the tribute to Chadwick Boseman on Disney+, and I was disappointed. Yes, lots of lovely cameos from the Big Stars of the Marvel franchise (special live interview with RDJ!) and of course they all said what a wonderful man he was but... the way to pay tribute to someone is to start by saying that X was a wonderful person, and to go on to say "I remember that time when X did/said ....." to make it personal, to make it real that there was a friendship. There wasn't a lot of that. Just the Serious Statements you make when someone died.
And... where the heck were the women of 'Black Panther'? There was a lot of emphasis on how important the Black Panther role and movie were for young black children, and I'm sure that's true, and that movie also had *four* awesome, powerful Black women with agency, played by four amazing Black actors who... I don't think any of them spoke a personal tribute. And that can't be right. Obviously I don't know who bonded with whom on which film set, but surely, surely he must have developed good working relationships with Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong'o, Letitia Wright and Angela Bassett????!!!
I just... am baffled. There was good stuff in the programme, eventually, although I could have done with less Host and more People Who Actually Knew Chadwick Boseman doing the talking. Overall, it wasn't good enough.
