pensnest: three perfect cupcakes (Cupcakes)
Well. This morning was supposed to be my Macmillan coffee morning. I made GF apple cake and GF Tiffin, and Vegan peanut butter crunch, and millionaire's shortbread, and hung up my suncatchers and displayed various craft items and geared up to bake some cupcakes on Thursday... but on Wednesday my Beast did not feel well, and when he took a Covid test, it was positive.

So.

I managed to transfer the cakes and some of the craft stuff and a tray of baby spider plants to the lovely people up the road who always used to run the Coffee Morning. I hope they get lots of custom this morning! At least it isn't raining.

Instead, we have been reorganising fridges. Beast has a fancy plug gadget which measures electricity use from whatever you plug into it, and has determined that our most elderly kitchen fridge costs £130 a year to run. The newest one, which was in Grandpa's kitchen, is only £30. So we spent the morning so far swapping the door to the other side, and swapping the fridges. Which were, happily, not as heavy as I feared they might be, so we were able to carry them handily.

I think we may be assembling a new light this afternoon. If it turns out well I shall post a pic!

I... probably have Covid, but I just feel a bit more sneezy and bunged up than usual, so it's not a problem. I haven't taken a test because we only have two in the house, and Beast will need to be confident that he is safe before he can go out and buy any more.

Oh, and for extra laughs, my computer refused to launch Mail, Safari, Firefox or, actually, anything this morning, so I am currently on the laptop. But Beast has re-somethinged it and it should be fine now. Grrr. It's like the Prius, which we hoped would manage for a few months longer, but didn't. It would be nice to be able to wait for a higher-spec Mac mini and then trade in, but it might not happen. Sigh.
