You know what? It may seem an odd week to say it, but I'm definitely getting an increase of respect for Lacey. Two weeks ago she had to stand there and listen to three judges - who knew a great deal less about the dance she'd just performed than she did - tell her she was doing it wrong. Last week, she took that advice and ran like hell with it, and gave Lance a Jive that really made it clear that he can do this stuff.

And this week... well. I'm not sure it was a good decision to do the Rumba without shoes, but I'm not ready to say it wasn't, because I thought that dance was absolutely beautiful.* And would you look at Lance? He looked gorgeous, his lines, his *arms* - last week he occasionally forgot about the 'spare' arm, this time he was complete. Same with the Cha Cha Cha, he looked like a dancer. Those hips! It was, admittedly, easy to be distracted, guh! He really looked like a dancer, and that has to be down to Lacey.

It looked as though Lacey was mostly taking charge of the choreography for the group number - presumably Edyta had to concentrate on working with Cody, and Tony was off in New York with Susan - and she's obviously not wise to all the tricks for groups yet. Not her fault, though, that Susan was useless. It was sad, really, you could see Lance and Lacey, and Cody and Edyta, watching Susan and thinking "We're so screwed". They were right.

I just hope the worst dancer of the bunch is the one who goes home this week.


* Is it heresy to say, I prefer it to Joey's Rumba? Because I do.

The rumba was sooo good. And I can see why Lacey wanted it barefoot, because they are telling a story and the story makes a lot more sense without shoes. Who wears shoes to the beach? Well, Len probably does. He needs to get over himself already. FOR SERIOUS.

Lance's arms were so great. That's where I think he really excels. The thing that bothers me about Brooke are her lobster claw hands. And Lance doesn't have that at all. He just looks gorgeous.

And wow, the nakedness was lovely. And Susan needs to go home.

The bare feet really did contribute to the overall effect of the dance. I think Lacey does choreograph to the music she's given, too, and it makes a difference. Also, someone one, uh, one of the various fora commented that so often the males dancing the rumba look, well, silly - Lance looked very good in that outfit.

And the orange one. Phwoar.

Yeah... I think a lot of couples have trouble with the Rumba. It's a lovely dance to *do*, if you ever get the chance, but it's not generally very exciting to watch. And this was.

I have to agree with you about Lacey. She's starting to win me over. That rumba was gorgeous, and so was Lance. The group dance annoyed me to bits, but that was mostly Susan. I think, though, that now we know who the top four couples are. And Len had to admit that the cha cha was saved by Lance and Lacey.

So, Susan should go tomorrow, then Cody, then Maurice, and then we'll have our top three for the finale.

I thought it was a bit harsh on Cody, who wasn't bad, and a bit over-lenient on Susan, who was, not to comment on what they did in the group dance. In fact, having discovered what scores everyone got for their solo dances, I wonder if there's a move afoot to lose Cody... which, if there is, would be very stupid, because it's obvious Susan Lucci does not have time to do DWTS *and* her regular job. She'll never manage two dances next week, not with any vestige of competence.

Anyway, I agree with your order of departures.

Cody's never really bad, and I think he's adorable, just not good enough to win. And he had a new partner last night, and I thought he did fine. Susan looks like she's going to break any minute and is a disaster. I didn't understand why the gave her such high scores on her dance last night.

Cody has improved, definitely, but I agree that he's not good enough to deserve a win.

Watching Susan running desperately along in that Cha Cha, not ever really finding the beat or looking as though she knew the steps - it was sad. She doesn't have *time* to do this show, which'd be true even if she could dance.

I thought their rumba was good, though I also think it's the most boring dance ever, so that's not saying much.

The group dance was so unfair, for once the judges agreed on Lance and Lacey, but couldn't give them a proper score.

I'm almost always disappointed with rumbas on DWTS, the idea seems to me to wave the arms about a lot and do a sequence of flashy moves to compensate for the fact that the steps are slow. This one, though, they really did something that I enjoyed watching.

The group dance was really, really unfortunate. It's a pity the teams weren't divided intelligently - if nothing else, to ensure a more equitable splitting of the professional dancers. And having the scores (a) as disparate as they were and (b) ruthlessly applied as they were, was a really nasty thing to do. Also, I thought it was mean of the judges to single out Lance and Lacey and not say anything to the others - Susan was grim, but Cody did all right and was given no consolation at all. Bah!
