Nov. 27th, 2008 11:12 amTuesday, I got a clean house. Well, the upper half. Two Merry Maids (!) came in and hoovered the ceilings, etc.
When it was time to pay them, I found that my handbag was not in the house. Cue panic! Mercifully, Tesco's had it and its contents safe and sound. Must have left it on the trolley when I went shopping on Monday evening.
Another good rehearsal, really, the men are actually *learning* this stuff! Of course, they will forget it over Christmas, but still, it's a promising start.
Speaking of Christmas, if anyone hasn't bought cards already, let me recommend this site!. The 'Shepherds' one is brilliant, and if I weren't making my own I would buy these and send them to all of you!
Slight woefulness for my adored Lance, who didn't quite make it to the very top. *pouts* I didn't think it was a great idea to do a hip hop freestyle, although I admit I was expecting something a bit more dazzling, but never mind. At least the terrifying rollercoaster is over! Dear me, it was much easier with Joey, I hardly worried about him at all.
Anyway, I shall replay last week's wonderful DWTS file in its entirety, many times, and it will make me happy, just as the barefoot rumba will continue to make me happy, and the jive, and both cha chas, etc. We have footage of Lance, dancing and being generally awesome. Let's hope it leads to more good things for him, just as being on DWTS did for Joey.
Yesterday, two engineers from British Gas showed up to check our boiler, to their mutual surprise. We let the one who got here first get on with it! The boiler still makes vacuum-cleaner noises, though these have muted slightly since the last engineer cleaned out the filter. It's very strange.
Beast is WoWing constantly. He is nearly at level 80, so he'll be able to raid soon. Like I care. Well, it keeps him happy.
And now, I must make sure I know what the ladies are doing at their rehearsal tonight.

A boiler who sounds like a vacuum cleaner? That is indeed very strange and also a bit hilarious. It makes me try and think of other household appliances and what they could sound like. A mixer that sounds like a washing machine? A fridge that sounds like a boiler? The possibilities are endless :-)

Date: 2008-11-27 07:16 pm (UTC)The boiler seems to be a puzzle to every one of the engineers so far. Ho hum.
