news of the cat, and Redemption

My cat managed to figure out that there would, at intervals, be Food available for her even though there were no humans in the house over the weekend, so we did not come home to Deep Reproach, but to a cat who merely requested (quite firmly) that there be Lunch, At Once. This is very handy. We've decided to keep feeding her from the timer thingy so that she doesn't lose the habit, although for Camp Sparkle week I shall probably deposit her in Norwich again.
She has also discovered that she likes cold tea. She stuck her head into my abandoned mug yesterday and drank about a third of a mugful of tea with great enthusiasm (and assistance from me, as she could not actually fit her head right the way inside the mug). This morning, she attempted to steal my tea again. The mug was full, but the tea was hot, so it did not take long for her to reconsider.
Had a jolly good weekend at the Redemption con: I was a little disappointed with the programme at first, but it turned out in fact to be very good—apart from mistakenly spending five minutes in a panel on "your favourite gadget", from which I fled to the fun one about femslash, I think I enjoyed every item I went to. The fanfic-based ones were more fun than they necessarily looked, and other stuff, like the physics of the impossible talk, were really interesting. I even painted a few people, including
nopseud, who looked excellent with a red 'mask' and black twinings and red glittery bits. Plus I found a Glambert fan and had a good natter in the bar on Saturday night.
