There was, apparently, an aura-photographing session in our village hall yesterday. Yay Photoshop, say I.

Tonight, there is an evening of ferret racing in this locality, which is... actually almost tempting. I mean, ferrets!

I seem to have spent so much time on Pirates lately, and on publicity and practicalities like tickets and ticket order forms, and going to meetings, and poking at my cockbertbigbang story, and having guests (is it normal behaviour for a woman from the Philippines to whisper to her husband instead of speaking directly to her hostess? I was much taken aback, but I could be missing stuff), that I haven't been posting to my journal. Have not, so far, been writing my remix. Augh.

I even missed International Ask An Atheist Day, on Wednesday (?), when I had meant to say, ask me whatever. Not that I expect most of my friends list to need to say, What's an Atheist, or Do You Have Morals, but you never know. Go ahead, ask me anyway.

I'm curious. What are we meant to ask the atheist? General advice? Open question season? Or does it have to be specifically about atheism?

I mean, I'm after a decent recipe to use up old bananas and I'd like to know why Tesco was completely sold out of onions last time we went there... (completely. Not a single onion anywhere in the store. All crates empty and removed from the veg section. There were a few lonely shallots.)

I dunno, really - I think American atheists seem to be regarded as demonic unhumans, or something, so they like to make it clear that they're just, you know, folks.

I think there was a recipe for banana bread, or possibly cake, in my kitchen somewhere, but alas, it is lost in the morass that is my recipe stash. As for the onions, I'm inclined to blame the non-existence of benevolent onion fairies.

I used to have a recipe foor banana choc chip cupcakes, but I can't find anywhere selling decent choc chips any more, so that's out.

Americans can be odd about religion or lack of it.

Perhaps you could batter a nice bar of chocolate with a rolling pin, and use the shards?

I think religion is mostly so much more important in the USA than it is here. I can't imagine any of my acquaintances *caring* that I'm an atheist!

All the supermarkets have gone over to Silver Spoon choc chips, and they're not even actual chocolate! Will be trying our local chocolaterie tomorrow.

I'm pretty damn sure that most of my colleagues don't care that I'm pagan.

Someone brought a whole bunch of Hershey's Kisses to Camp Sparkle one year. Like miniature brown candles. Fortunately we had various Europeans among us, who brought the good chocolate. And also some chocolate with liquorice filling.

I once went to see greyhound racing. It was hilarious!
