My little cat—who is now, I think, sixteen, a very respectable age—has taken to sleeping on a cushion under the table in the conservatory. Why is there a cushion under the table in the conservatory? Because last autumn, when I was out there creating, my feet got cold. And I forgot it was there. I don't really understand the attraction, but that's cats for you.

Now, a request for help. There's a hideous snack 'food' item that is basically yellow-orange blobs of something crunchy, and possibly 'cheese' flavoured, which leave bright orange dust over the fingers of anyone foolish enough to consume it. Can anyone tell me the brand name for this stuff? I need an American brand, not a British one. I think it's Wotsits, here.

Finished a sleeve of Bun's epic knitted jacket, but I'm wondering if it's a bit too seaweedy at the cuff. Sigh. Still, it was quite neat to knit, so even if I have to rip it back to the line before the frill starts, I've learnt something.

We have several bright orange snack foods (like Pepperidge Farm goldfish) but for the description of "bright orange dust" and the clincher of "hideous", there can be only one: see reply above.

As everyone else has mentioned, Cheetos is the brand name. I'm sure store brands often have their own versions.

That said, they do not taste exactly the same as Wotsits - the texture and shape is a little bit different. Same general concept, though. Puffy powdered-cheese-coated thing.

This is true. Socks chooses a New Place every two weeks or so. At the moment she is posed on the back of the sofa in my computer room, like a tiny lion.
