Every time I hear anyone singing with Queen, it makes me realise all over again what an amazing voice Freddie Mercury had. Not that Adam Lambert doesn't have a perfectly good voice himself, but, damn. He was something utterly magical.

Aww, heck. I had a feeling they'd finished with 'We Are The Champions', and it's making me cry.

It's 'The Show must go on' that makes me want to cry. Although of course nothing can touch Freddie Mercury's vocals on that one.

(Watching him sing is like that one late night show with JC and the hold-your-breath competition, where the host gave up after a bit and JC was all 'dum de dum, I could do this all day... Oh, you're giving up? Sure? Really? You can take a breath and keep going, I'm fine. No? Alrighty then.' Like - normal people do not have that kind of capacity. They are GENETIC MUTANTS.)

(I know that to some extent we can train to improve such things, but some people are seriously just, like. EXTRA LUNGS.)

I like some of adam's stuff -- the only reason it's not 'all' is simply because these days I'm more country music than pop/rock -- and I adore Queen, and holy wow, what a combination.

It's such a *huge* voice, and he uses it immaculately. (I love the acoustic versions of some of his songs, particularly.)

I think Adam wanted it that way, although I'm not sure if that's canon or fanon, ha. I wouldn't put it past him.

It does look as though Adam didn't want any suggestion that he was using the occasion for his own publicity. He got in on the BBC interview with the other two guys from Queen, which was nice. One of them described him as a voice in 100,000,000. Also pretty cool!
