February Festival, Day Five
Feb. 5th, 2012 06:29 pmA story which formed or changed your perception of the characters.
I can't remember which were the very first popslash stories I read, although
nopseud would know as she has a carefully honed rec list with which to lure the unwary into the fandom. But I do remember that there was a particular story which (perhaps a little unfairly) defined my ideas of Who Backstreet Were for quite a while, as it was among the earliest Nsync/BSB crossovers I read.
Coldhearted by Jae. In which each member of Nsync has to have some kind of sex with a member of Backstreet.
It's an awkward one to answer for my own stories, but I think it's fair to say that Bouquet counts, as it wasn't till I wrote (at some length) about Adam Lambert that I grew to love him. Although in fairness, that tends to happen with anyone I write about—but that one I actually noticed at the time.

Date: 2012-02-06 09:57 am (UTC)There's a page here that lists popslash resources, and includes a couple of primers, but they are probably wildly out of date (if they are still up). I must admit, I read for quite some time without even bothering to find out what the guys looked like or sounded like—they just make great characters for fanfic.

Keep reading the recs this month, it'll be a nice way of finding some of the fabulous ones! It's never too late to love popslash.
