May. 19th, 2012 11:39 pmI was, unusually, struck with the urge to do something useful today, so now my linens cupboard is in order and pruned of ancient sheets, unnecessary throws and suchlike, *and* the spare bookshelf from Bun's room has been moved into this one and there has been considerable rearranging of books. We now have spare capacity on the shelves, and I have discovered a few duplicates among my books.
Would anyone like to give a good home to:
Dorothy Dunnett: Niccolo Rising (This was my very first Dunnett book, found in a charity shop but still in decent condition - it doesn't fit well on the bookshelf and I have a slightly smaller edition now. I prefer the Niccolo series to the Francis Crawford of Lymond series, as Niccolo is somewhat less highly strung and a lot less noble than Lymond.)
Jacqueline Carey: Kushiel's Justice, also Naamah's Kiss (I seem to have bought both twice, probably because I haven't got round to reading either of them.)
Stephen Jay Gould: Dinosaur in a Haystack (series of essays on evolution, snails and baseball)
Let me know if you'd like any of the above, otherwise they'll join the *four* sacks of Stuff To Go To The Oxfam Shop.
I was amused to see that the POTUS has a Tumblr—was led there from Shakesville, specifically to this post. Hah.
I also found myself reading some unexpected but very tasty porn earlier today. Three delightful PWPs in the under-appreciated Die Hard 4 fandom, here,
here and here.

Date: 2012-05-20 12:05 am (UTC)Re corsets - the smallest one, and the one who's shape I think might work significantly better for you than on me is 39 inches laced completely closed, so might work on someone anything up to 12 inches or so larger, depending on how tight you want to wear it and how much of a lacing line you might want to display. If you think it's worth a shot I will happily send it your way, and if it doesn't work out maybe the theatre can use it for costuming? It's black leather, spiral boned, and brand new, thanks to Ebay's non returns policy and the way it's utterly the wrong length and shape for me!
