They were splendid, pulling out so early and just sitting there ahead of everyone - it's by far the best way to row a race, if you can, because it's so nice to be able to see if anybody puts up a challenge!
Disappointing that the men didn't do better, particularly since the eight was really in contention at one point and then lost it. Oh well, it can't be Sydney every time. (I remember with great affection how Matthew Pinsent was on the bank yelling himself hoarse for the men's eight back then!)
And I loved watching the cycling this afternoon - as much as anything because of the crowd. It was amazing to see so many people out there cheering, and the way they encouraged everyone on through the final few yards to the finish line. And of course, GB gold and bronze.
i've loved listening to the competitors in all the different sports talking about how amazing the crowd has been - so loud cheering them on everywhere, which makes it even worse when you hear about these empty corporate seats!
And people do actually seem to be out and about at the Olympic Park, which has to make for a fun atmosphere. (If we could only persuade some of them to go to the West End theatres in the evenings!)
The corporates failing to fill those seats should be fined, or something - they could make them available on the spot for a limited time, or something. Let the sports fans in!
Apparently your best bet is to get a UK proxy address (I *think* something called 'tunnelbear' will help) and watch the BBC coverage, which is excellent.
