Okay, who among you has ever desired to set your farts on fire?

And DID YOU KNOW that apparently about 10% of the population has no methanogenic Archaea in their gut, so they cannot light their farts.

You missed me, didn't you? Of course you did. (You probably didn't spend the time attempting to ignite your farts.) I spent a week not posting because I was in Sweeney Todd every night, and knackered every day (the advent of extra-feminine fun at the inevitable Most Awkward Time did not help matters—really, I just have to look 30-40 days ahead and see what will be the most inconvenient time for a period, and mark it in my diary, for then it will be). The show was pretty good in the end (once they'd axed the Kiss me/Ladies in their Sensitivities quartet, anyway) although sadly under-attended. Which was completely inevitable. My Bun came on the Saturday night, along with her housemates and the family of one of them, which was much appreciated. One of the boys hugged me, quite spontaneously, which I thought was delightful.

And then I spent a week away from the computer! Went down to Somerset to stay with my best friend for a few days. It rained almost all the time, but their farmhouse is nice and cosy and I knitted most of a sock and there was no particular need to go out - except for the afternoon we spent looking at kitchen showrooms and driving through vast, brick-red floods where the water flowed off the clay fields onto the road. 4x4s are actually useful in the country. We also saw The Last of the Haussmanns at the cinema, this being a live cinecast from the National Theatre, which was an interesting experience. Then, on to my sister's place in Devon. They've halved their house, so that one end is now a lettable cottage of Extreme Character (you can tell by the angled floors - it's quite an experience lying in bed looking at the chest of drawers opposite, which is about twenty degrees off true). It works remarkably well. And my nephew is a tall, good-looking boy of fourteen who likes clothes, and my niece a tall, pretty girl of ten who ditto, although I cannot say that I see any good reason for the 'Superdry' brand to have achieved the status of ultimate coolness that it apparently has, as the clothes just weren't that interesting… oh well. And now I am back at home and have had several severe cuddles with my Beast. Best friendly and sisterly hugs are not *quite* as good.

I did open the laptop at one point in the vague hope of embarking on a dragon challenge story, but, eh, nothing happened, even though I do have a notion. Possibly the unreasonably sexy presence of Oscar Pistorius in my head is to blame. I will not be writing OP fanfic. Probably. And there will be MTYG, and there's a Kradam holiday exchange which tempts me, except I seem to be capable of writing only at glacial speed, and is there time to go to Houston/Los Angeles/Australia/Singapore and still write stories with deadlines? Yes, it ought to be, but, hmm. I kinda want to sign up for the Kradam challenge - only, was that the challenge that filled me with wrath the first time I did it? Perhaps it was. Perhaps I won't, then.

So. Woss going on? Did JC emerge from his cave?

In college one of my male housemates lit his fart on fire for us. It was college, what can I say?

The Kradam challenge was teh one that filled me with rage 2 years ago so I am avoiding it like the plague. I don't know if it changed hands or not.

Sounds like you had fun on your trips!

At uni, one of the ghastly boys I lived with (who proudly proclaimed he had Yellow Fever and dated only Asian girls and ended up going to Sandhurst) put a condom over his head. I repeat: he put a condom. OVER HIS HEAD. After that, I am no longer as boggled at the things people will do when they are bored.

Nothing is going on much in my life. Eagerly awaiting you and Beast to descend upon me, for it will be my first day off (medical appointments and public holidays are not counted) in about FIVE MONTHS.

Now I'm imagining several people trying to figure out whether they're among that 10%....

Sounds like a lovely trip!

I think that the Kradam challenge from hell was two years ago and it has since then changed hands?

I'm one day away from my midterm break! A measly three-day break, but a break nevertheless. I shall be visiting [personal profile] saba1789 from Thursday to Sunday! :D Other than that it's been raining for weeks, and will probably continue to do so. >:(

Emphasizing his credentials as a dick?

BA DUM TSSSSSSH

Oh god did we ever decide properly on what you were keen on having a look at? The Night Safari will have to be at night (as the name handily suggests), but it can easily be bundled in with a visit to the zoo next door before that. Hmm.

(If you would rather just wing it, please ignore my OCDness)
