In my email this morning, an update on Forthcoming Events contained the following sentence:

"Eminem has announced a second date at Lancashire County Cricket Club."

There's something about that that strikes me as gloriously incongruous. Scuse me while I giggle like a fool.

Giggle? I burst out laughing so hard my cat woke up! Eminem, at a cricket club! In white flannel trousers and cable-knit sweater, woo! (Actually, that thought is rather appealing, he is cute after all :-)

Overcast, rainy days are made for snoozing is his opinion and I dared to disturbe him! But he's so lazy he just just lifted his head and glared at me for a minute :-) (And the thought of elderly cricket buffers worra-worra-ing at Eminem is just insanely funny. What a culture clash!)

Eminem does England! Eminem drinking afternoon tea and eating scones with raspberry jam and clotted cream. Eminem punting on the Isis. Eminem on the pier in Brighton. Eminem trying to be he's usual badass self down at the pub and being drunk under the table by the local lads. Someone ought to write about it :-)

It's two photos from the EMA in Italy in November. When I first saw them they imediately made me want to make an icon like this. First they're so solemn and serious and then just cracking up, without really moving at all. They're all such dorks :-)

No, you can use them with a free account too AFAIK. As long as an icon isn't larger than 40k you're free to upload it to the icon slots you've got. It can be hard to keep an animated gif under 40k though, but with lots of compression and some shortcuts people seemt to be able to create really remarkable sequences.

A couple of my favourites among the moving icons are [livejournal.com profile] patchworkdragon's 'Respect the Trickyfish' and [livejournal.com profile] nopseud's 'We may be going to hell' - both funny and visually striking.
