February Fic Recs, Day 1: A great opening

pensnestI have a chalcopyrite today and we are off to Cromer for a Thing, which at least one of us will probably explain later. So, I am posting early to get my February Fic Recs started in a timely fashion.
So, the first category of February Fic Recs is
Lance once slept with a guy with an orange dick.
How's that for an eye-catching start to a story? It is from Orange is the happiest color, a story I was very happy to receive from my Secret Santa (![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
ullman) in 2012's MTYG challenge. You will not be surprised to learn that it amused me very much.
To continue last year's somewhat egotistical response of including one of my own stories in every category (if possible), I think I'll have to nominate:
Perez Hilton was dead. He had been shot between the eyes by a hired assassin. He had been slowly and carefully eviscerated like a laboratory rat. He had been sliced and diced in a meat factory, smashed by a thirty-ton truck, starved to death in a basement, drowned in a jacuzzi, and burned at the stake. He had been eaten by wolves. He was, one way or another, very, very dead.
