2. Joey sings. Rather beautifully. Once upon a time I used to find out this kind of thing from fans, but nowadays Lance's Twitter is the source of all the interesting news.

3. Sick of Thicke's shit? Ask Thicke hashtag goes, unsurprisingly, rather badly. Hee.

4. Apparently, Justin and Jessica both play golf. Their lives are so exciting.

5. And now for something completely different:

Pity about the shadow, but there is nowhere I can put it that won't be shadowed, at the moment.

It is very beautiful, although I have to admit that it is full of mistakes. I think I shall have another go at this pattern, because it is *gorgeous*. I want to do a more peacock-coloured version, rich greens and blues, and perhaps add in the beading next time as well. The pattern—the Renaissance Shawl by Anne-Lise Maigaard—is really well presented and easy to follow. It's all in charts, and I didn't find any flaws in it, only in my own knitting.

I have not blocked the little crocheted chains around the edge, although the pattern shows them as little open points. But I think they're pretty good as they are.

The shawl is beautiful! I love the subtle variation in the colours. Seeing it finished, I can see how beads could add to it, though I've always thought beading sounded like more trouble than I wanted to go to. But as it is, really lovely and a little magical.

I didn't have any beads big enough to use, and I have a suspicion that beads big enough to use would look too big for this, as it is rather thin cotton and did not come out huge. But I might well want to bead a bigger version, to help with drapiness.

It's a really nice pattern. I suspect you could make it much larger if you wanted, depending on your yarn. This one comes down not quite to my waist - I'll see if I can find something to wear underneath that will show it off.

I think it would probably drape differently in a wool- or silk-based yarn, but I quite like the way the cotton gives it definite structure.

It's beautiful. The subtle colour changes are lovely and the way it drapes is completely different from what I expected with those ripples down the back.

but I now know it's one I won't knit. I prefer shawls that are longer at the front (because I tend to get cold on the chest).

I think the fact that it's knitted in cotton must be in part responsible for the way it drapes - purely by luck! But it is quite a curled neckline, which leads to not much at the front. Still, there's no shortage of recipes on Ravelry—I spend so much time drooling over them.

its awesome! I started crocheting again at the beginning of the year as our friends became grandparents but I developed tendonitis in my hand. the color is beautiful and only you know where those little 'oversights' are!

I was beginning to worry that knitting it in cotton had been a mistake, but it blocked out very nicely, and the cotton probably gives it more shape and strength than it would have had in wool.

Tendonitis must be *so* tiresome. :-(

It's so nice to hear Joey sing—I couldn't hear him in the Nsync harmonies, but on his vanishingly rare solos it was always clear he could do it. *wants more* This seems to be part of a set, possibly an album, by, er, someone?

How about a compilation album. Lance can add "Walking on Air", Joey can contribute "Hold on to the Night", and we can find something for Chris to sing, I'm sure, and JC has a ton of crap we've never been privy to hear, so if they don't want to sing as a group, why not? So we don't get the harmonies, but we could still have the guys! Maybe I should toss that one to Lance on twitter?

I am in love with that shawl!!! I can just imagine peacock/rainbow colours would look stunning in that pattern. I've gotten in to dressmaking myself but haven't ventured in to knitting/crochet yet. Making clothes from scratch is so satisfying!!

It is very satisfying actually making things - and knitting has a distinct advantage over tapestry in that the things you make are actually *useful* rather than purely decorative. There was a nice little subset of us knitting at Camp this year.

But now ephemera has suggested I could do a phoenix shawl so I may just have to do something in flame colours. Oh, the hardship - moar yarn!
