Knitted Stuff
Oct. 19th, 2014 11:23 pmAnother couple of knitting projects finished.
There's an iteration of the Incredible Custom Fit Raglan Sweater here on Ravelry. I bought 166gm of a lovely fancy yarn at Fibre East, which I decided would go very well with the Simply Taupe Malabrigo Worsted I ended up not being able to use for another project, and I was right. It's probably destined for my Boy, since it won't be big enough for my BIL.

I strongly recommend this pattern! It is really easy to follow, and the sweater can be as complicated as you want. It is also seamless, and I did reasonably intelligent things with waste yarn for casting on so I didn't even have to do a lot of picking up around the neck. I *like* seamless garments.
Also, I have finished the Drachentuch, in bright, glittery pink and less bright, unglittery purple (the colours don't really show in the photo). It's double knitted, so that the colours are reversed but the pattern is the same. Is there among you someone who would like an eight foot long shawl/scarf in pink and purple, with dragons? If so, let me know before Wednesday and you shall have it for Christmas; if nobody wants it I shall try to sell it on Wednesday at my Open House for Oxfam.

Date: 2014-10-20 07:12 pm (UTC)It's finished, congratulations! (Why are red, pinks, and purples so hard to photograph?!!!)
PS You can make your Ravelry projects visible to everyone if you want to. It's what the little "share this" thingy in the top right corner is for. At first I thought it was for sending links only but it's actually both.

Date: 2014-11-12 04:33 pm (UTC)It's a really simple pattern, which just gives you the option of doing fancy things or not, as you like. And of course there are NO SEAMS to sew up afterwards, which is a great advantage!
Socks... the first sock is an adventure. The second sock is just repetition. A lace shawl is more likely to be finished, I feel, because you only need to do it once!

Date: 2014-11-27 04:20 pm (UTC)See, I don't mind doing mittens or fingerless gloves. But socks. I think it might have something to do with the pattern I was trying to use. My SIL knits up socks so quickly and two at a time. I am working on a shawl now, started in February - hope to finish this Christmas. Time permitting.
