And we're off! It's always nice to have prompts for posting, and I've enjoyed this challenge for the last couple of years, so I'm going to have another go.

Today's challenge is: In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Righto.

The Song of Chris Kirkpatrick - an epic poem, only shorter. Yes.

Why this one? Because it's.. well, it ain't poetry, it's verse, and I do break into verse once in a while. And everybody needs sticky, tricky Chris Kirkpatrick, even if you've never read The Song of Hiawatha.

Oh, the Places You'll Go - a miniature story in which Lance is a very good godfather, and Briahna grows up with Dr Seuss.

Why this one? Because it's kind of adorable, and puts such lovely pictures into my head. Probably works best for readers who have children in their lives. Not that I ever read any Dr Seuss books to mine, but whatever.

Dragon Country - an alternate version of our universe, with technology around the 1970s (except for aeroplanes), in which Lance Bass is an employment agent specialising in showbusiness. Adam Lambert, who wears dragonhide boots, is looking for a job. Warning: contains a scene of rape and violence, in an otherwise rather fluffy story.

Why this one? This story grew out of the aforementioned scene of rape and violence. In fact, it was sparked by a remark in a discussion on Seanan McGuire's LJ about why she doesn't intend to have her lead female characters raped. You never know what will spark a story. The scene itself is a very small part of the story, and really, I'm very happy with the worldbuilding in this one. Actually, I'm pretty proud of the whole thing, and there will be a sequel in the next Dragon Big Bang Challenge. \o/

You should be proud of Dragon Country! It is awesome.

I'll have to check out the Lance and Dr. Suess story, even if I don't have kids. *g*

I love that you create such things as The Song of Chris Kirkpatrick. It's so perfectly you.

The Song of Chris Kirkpatrick is one of those very rare things so jaw-droppingly good that there's really nothing to say about it but...'buh'. (I think it might've been the first thing of yours I ever read, actually, and I've adored it for years - just in case I never told you :)
