May. 25th, 2015 04:52 pmWe were doing various tasks in the garden yesterday when a small deer started hurtling about and trying to leap the (6' high) fences. I tried to help it out by opening the gate into Ancient Forest, but I think it fought its way through a hedge in the end and into the neighbour's garden instead. It was a lot sturdier than I'd have expected a small—presumably a Muntjack—deer to be. I do hope it doesn't end up in the swimming pool one day.
My Beast is being very noble and has spent much of today adjusting and amending the gutters around the garage and front door. I am not one for ascending ladders, but did assist briefly by handing him drill, screwdriver, scalpel, screws etc. And provided moral support. And also a very nice curry at the local curry place, a pleasant 25-minute walk away. We were the only patrons in the entire restaurant, which must have been a bit depressing for the staff.
