Eight years ago I stayed up to watch the West Coast of America go blue for Barack Obama. (Still don't think the US's election practices make sense, but whatever.)

Stayed up last night in the hope of seeing the same thing happen for the first woman president of the USA. I was really, really hoping that the US would do something that'd heal, a little bit, what was done in my own country at the Brexit referendum.

And now, I feel sick.

I did not stay up because I did that for the Gore/Bush(/fucking Nader) election, and could not take the endless flipping back and forth...

and didn't history just go and fucking repeat itself.

I'm going to go find some threatened good causes to donate to in the US.

I did the same, wrt donating. So far just HRC, but I'm sure there will be others in the next few days and weeks. I feel so impotent right now, that it's the only thing I can think to do.
