I need a bit of light relief.

Not from the US election and its consequences, because reading about that is entirely a choice I can decide not to make, and although it infuriates, baffles and dismays me, it's not going to affect me until the orange one decides to go all-out All Fossil Fuels, All The Time, or else is crossed on Twitter and sends in the nukes.

No. It's just that life chez Pen is a mite more stressful than usual because we have a permanent house guest (Beast's father) and I have in consequence had a lot less solitude than I need. And a lot more in the way of minor irritants, to be fair. (He's 92 next week. He wants to buy an Isuzu truck. To drive around Norwich. This is madness.) And my usual routine quite a lot gone, and I like my usual routine.

So I have a plea: can you direct me to cute, short, funny stories? Ideally popslash and/or Glambert, even Star Trek TNG, but of course Avengers and Leverage and Discworld and Narnia and all kinds of things will also work, I'll even try fandoms I don't know about. I need a good reason not to be reading the news (I'm sure there are many who feel the same, and with more reason).

I do recommend Cabin Pressure - it's all available through Audible, if that's a thing you do. I tend to listen to audiobooks and podcasts while I'm knitting :)
