It sounds, right now, as though Norwich has gone to war, but I'm going to assume that it is just the noise from the fireworks at the end of the Mayor's procession. Impressive, anyway.

My kitchen is… ah. It should be a thing of joy and magnificence, but as it turns out, as soon as the worktops were fitted the colour of the cupboards and drawers looked wrong. Most depressing. So they're going to have to be repainted before I can rejoice in my new kitchen. Which is otherwise quite splendid—we have all the lights up and functional now, so there are four different circuits (cupboards and undercupboards/ceiling downlighters/three pendants/dining room circles) and probably haven't tried out all the possible combinations yet. And the walls do twinkle, very discreetly.

I want my kitchen, dammit.

Awww, that happened in my bathroom remodel, except it was the countertop that looked too teal instead of greenish. But i just went with it, because it *was* the color I chose.

Good luck repainting!

I approve of walls that sparkle, as does my niece who threw glitter on the purple dressing room walls in the co-op I am moving into. AHahaha

It's so annoying! I think maybe it was because the samples of door and worktop were so tiny, maybe they had to be bigger to get a clear picture. It should have worked! It *will* be splendid. It will.

So close to the completed kitchen! so close! (I'm guessing you don't want to get too mocved in with the painting still to do, so no celebratory cooking?)

Beast is being very firm about not moving in yet, or starting to cook using the extremely fancy (read: utterly plain except for removable control knob) new hob. We must get the repainting done first.

I wish someone would invent noiseless fireworks. I love the colours and sparkles so much but HATE the banging.

How very disappointing and irritating. The discreetly twinkly walls sound delightful however and I'm sure the final result will be worth all the trouble.

My Bun is right there with you on the fireworks noise. Last year, on her birthday in November, we'd just come from a nice dinner in town and she and I went to take a quick look in an art gallery that was open late, when the fireworks started above the castle. Had to fight our way through the crowds, with Bun flinching at every bang.

It will look fabulous when it is done. I just thought it would be done *now*. Augh!
