pensnestIt is Beast's birthday today. One of those birthdays that ends in a zero. He's having an Official Birthday on Sunday, but we went to the cinema and had lunch beforehand at a Chinese buffet, very reasonable place. We saw the new Kingsman film, which was much as expected—enjoyable tosh. But *far* too loud.
Beast is very low-key. When I turn 60, there will be a PARTY.

The sky is weirdly grey-yellow, and as featureless as though someone had Gaussian blurred it entirely. It is eerie.

The kitchen is DONE! All drawers the right colour, all lights functional, extension shelf present and correct inside right hand oven. \o/\o/\o/\o/
So is my herb bed. We—well, mostly Beast—made a wooden border for a raised bed, and I collected soil from the Ancient Forest and from the oldest compost bin, and planted the herbs in there. Three kinds of mint, chives, parsley, sage, lemon verbena, two kinds of thyme, rosemary, oregano, and basil (which may not be long for this world, but I will give it its chance). It all looks very pleasing.
