I went to visit nopseud at the beginning of the week, so that we might venture up to Nottingham together to see Queen & Adam Lambert in concert. I am pleased to be able to approve of Adam's outfits, which featured a Great Deal of glitter (although perhaps not quite enough leather). The pink suit was a thing of beauty. And the lighting people had been earning their salaries. The place was packed, with sedentary and calm people, but I think everybody had a good time.

We also went to Bath for a day, to check out next year's Camp Sparkle house, the Christmas Market, and the bus system. I was, I thought, quite restrained in my Market purchases, and would happily have spent a lot longer there, but then. Plenty of time to shop next June. And I know there is a fine yarn shop, because I've been there before.

Now I'm home again, and fretting over the nonexistent ticket sales for our concert on Saturday. Nothing I can do, as everything I could think of, I have done. I did calculate that if every member of chorus could sell just four tickets, we'd have a splendid audience and would easily make a profit. But it seems that my experience as a member of a theatre group doesn't really translate—a lot of the chorus members seem quite reluctant to sell tickets. And, I suppose, given that our vocabulary of songs does not change that fast, most of their nearest and dearest have already heard everything we do. At least with a theatre group the material being presented is different every time.

Oh well. I shouldn't feel responsible, or guilty, given that it was not my decision to put on a concert in the run-up to Christmas in a gigantic hall with at least three times the capacity of any venue we've ever performed in. But I still do, and it makes me queasy.

The outfits he wore at his own concert in Hammersmith last year (I think) were *horrendous*!! I think the ones on Tuesday featured rather too many high heels, but I suspect the decision to mince a bit was made to fit with those particular songs.

I loved that Thomas video - my dad is quite fond of Thomas and his world, so I sent my mom a link to share with him. I wonder how much figuring and engineering went into making those tricks work?

I've seen things before that are plainly a continuous 'take', and this plainly wasn't, so they probably had to have several goes at some of the stunts to make them work!

The pink suit was just glorious! The crowd at the SSE Hydro was also quite restrained, but I have high hopes of Manchester (even though there are still tickets available, wtf.)

I'm so sorry about your ticket woes. If I were in the county that day, I would definitely be there.

I guess the middle-aged+ Queen fans are not going to be up and moving for the full concert, and the young Adam fans weren't enough to make the difference. It does feel a bit odd to sit through a concert!

I'm just hoping a bunch of people show up at the door...

Awww, I'm sorry about your ticket sales. I hope you get a mad rush at the end.

It's obviously a mutual love-fest, which is kinda adorable. And Adam does manage to strut awfully well, and have a bit of fun, which is exactly the right approach to it all.

I saw that Thomas vid on The Last Leg, it's a lot of fun.

We tried for Queen and Adam tickets for Newcastle, but sadly they sold out really fast. So it was not to be.

Yeah, the Nottingham arena was certainly packed! I'm glad to have had a seat—my own space—because the people on the floor of the arena were packed shoulder to shoulder all the way. Admittedly, Adam did trot round high-fiving the front row, brave man, but I'd have hated to be trapped in the crowd like that.

I'm glad you had a good time with nopseud, Queen and Adam! Wasn't the purple suit amazing? And I love how he's back to wearing All Glitter All The Time. ♥

All Glitter All The Time is a policy I can support wholeheartedly! I did adore that suit. And of course the crown at the end, which I suspect he *loves*.
