I received a baffling Christmas present from my brother: a mug with an obviously personalised photo on it. The photo was of a girl/young woman in a bikini, lying face down but facing sideways so as to look at the camera. I stared at it for ages, and eventually concluded that as the box it came in had my bro's address on and had not been opened, he must have received the wrong item from whoever did the personalising, and not realised.

About five minutes before my brother phoned to wish me a happy Christmas, I recognised the bikini. It was mine.

We watched the Lego Batman movie yesterday afternoon, and I was charmed to identify Voldemort as Eddie Izzard. Many giggles in the Lego Batman movie. Also, somewhat unexpectedly, Batman/Joker UST (well, not very U).

Then we played Marrying Mr Darcy. I, Charlotte Lucas, was unexpectedly proposed to by Mr Darcy and naturally snapped him up. Didn't win, though, because Jane (played by Bun) got her hands on Mr Bingley and was Sublimely Happy, something which earns you many points. It's a fun game.

We missed the Christmas Episode of Doctor Who yesterday and so watched it on catch-up (with considerable difficulty) today. Ah, those four little words. They always make my heart sink. Which four words? "Written by Steven Moffat", of course. Even Peter Capaldi cannot wring my heart with an Emotional Scene written by Steven Moffat.

Ahaha, yeah, recognizing yourself as Young Girl is hard! *g*

I haven't seen Lego Batman, but I saw the Ninjago movie which was very funny too.

It was about forty years ago, plus I have obliterated all memories of that holiday in Madeira from my mind. Seriously can remember *nothing*! I am quite certain I have never worn a bikini since, though!

That sounds like fun game. You should bring it to Camp next year.

It is a lot more fun than I expected, and probably gets even better when everyone is familiar with everyone else's aims - you get different matrimony points for marrying particular people depending on who you are, eg Jane and Lizzie get 15 points for marrying respectively Bingley and Darcy, but anyone else who marries Darcy gets at least ten points (except in a case like mine - I was aiming for Mr Collins!).

It's my daughter's game, but I may ask if I can borrow it for Camp.

Charlotte/Darcy is a pairing I have never considered but am now v. intrigued by.

It is rather interesting, indeed! I imagine she'd have been entirely satisfied with her life, as she did not appear to look for actual happiness with her husband; Darcy would probably also have been reasonably content, as she would have been a capable wife of whom he need not be ashamed. Hmm.

I shall have to take a look at Marrying Mr Darcy. Although I don't know if I'll be able to persuade my husband to play.
