Snowflake Challenge, Day 8
Jan. 8th, 2018 05:27 pmDay 8
In your own space, share a favorite piece of original canon (a TV episode, a song, a favorite interview, a book, a scene from a movie, etc) and explain why you love it so much. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I have a particular fondness for a Justin Timberlake song (!!!), partly because it's gentle and actually *sung* and lovely, and partly because it showed up in my life exactly when I needed it. I was writing a story involving dragons, and wasn't quite sure how to get from where my characters were to where they needed to be, and Justin showed up with this song and it made everything work. Amazing.
Pair of Wings (YouTube link) from the 20/20 Experience part 2 of 2, on which it is a hidden track.
And then, of course, there's Space Cowboy. Which is pure joy and silliness and like the best bits of popslash. Giant space bulls for ever! Bounce, JC, bounce!
Back a lot further in my personal fannish timeline, I loved Data's Dream, in which he wandered through the Enterprise and met Dr Soong as a young man (rather than the ancient specimen we'd seen before). Brent Spiner has such beautiful eyes! I'd admired him as an actor, and loved Data as a character, for a good while before I saw this, but after seeing an un-Data-fied Brent I was, well, quite smitten.
