Bun and I went to the East Anglia Game and Country Show yesterday, along with many people in waxed jackets and wellies, and half the dogs in Norfolk (the other half went on Saturday). Very, very country: all the clothes tents were selling stuff like T-shirts in camouflage prints or Barbour coats or jodhpurs, there were a lot of fairground style booths where you could shoot at stuff, and all the art on show was game, farm animals or dogs. However, the food tent had many tasty things (and All The Fudge, which I nobly refrained from buying, but seriously, if you were unable to obtain fudge yesterday, it was all in Thetford). We watched the dancing diggers, a display team from JCB, at which point I noticed that the man in front of me had a hat with "Get over it" on the back and realised that everybody else there had voted Leave.
Ah well. Many pork scratchings for Beast, and a pleasant (if extremely chilly) time with my daughter.

Beast and I went to see the new Avengers movie this afternoon. I will save thoughts on that for a separate post in case of spoilers.

When we got back, FIL had been troubled by an insistent alarm which he had not been able to track to its source. Turned out to have been the carbon monoxide alarm. The boiler had cast water about again this morning so Beast had taken various bits off it, but turned it back on before we left the house so that his dad did not freeze. Probably a mistake. We opened many windows! Fortunately neither FIL nor cats seemed to be at all affected, but the boiler plainly remains a problem.

I am beyond delight at the discovery that there is a death metal band called Hatebeak, with an avian vocalist (a grey parrot called Waldo). I mean, it's totally not my genre, but seriously!
*
The cats are *thundering* about the house. Someone is chasing someone up the stairs and across the bedroom and back and down the stairs and in here and back up the stairs again. Anyone would think we had pet hippos. Possibly they are still high on ham, of which they got their first tastes this evening. Oh, here they come again.

There is an interview with Dr Chuck Tingle, world's greatest author (possibly). Here.

Cats are now snuggling on the sofa again. Cats are *SO* cute. Awww.
